Webinar: Unveiling the Mysteries of single-neuron recordings
John Gale, renowned Neurophysiologist, Vice President of DIXI NeuroLab and Senior Trainer at DIXI medical, launches an Insightful 6-Episode Webinar on the inner workings of the human brain and microelectrode recordings.
We are happy to announce the launch of a webinar series titled “Unveiling the Mysteries of single-neuron recordings” Hosted by John Gale, a highly experienced neurophysiologist with over three decades of clinical expertise, this webinar series aims to equip participants with the essential knowledge and tools to understand and record single unit activities within the human brain through Micro-Macro SEEG electrodes.
John Gale brings a wealth of expertise and passion to this educational initiative. The webinar series will comprise six informative episodes, each designed to provide a condensed yet comprehensive introduction to the brain and the fundamentals of single unit activities.
Gale emphasized that the goal of this webinar series is not to transform participants into neurophysiologists but to provide them with a solid understanding of the major concepts and help them tackle common noise issues encountered during single unit physiology. By grasping the intricacies of the brain’s functions and learning how single unit activities propagate electrical potentials, participants will gain valuable insights into troubleshooting and mitigating artifacts.
“It’s not going to be thorough, and the webinars are not meant to make everybody a physiologist,” Gale explained in the first session. “I’d like to provide everyone with tools and allow them to have a grasp of the major concepts of SEEG.”
Through this webinar series, participants will embark on an intellectual journey, delving into the inner workings of the human brain. The sessions will include an in-depth introduction to the brain, exploring its structure, functions, and the intricate network of neurons. Participants will then learn more about the world of neuronal potentials, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how electrical signals propagate within individual neurons. The foundations of electrophysiology will be thoroughly examined, providing attendees with essential knowledge on microelectrode recording techniques and data analysis. Furthermore, the webinar series will explore various types of studies conducted in neurophysiology, shedding light on the diverse applications of this field. Participants will also gain insights into artifacts that can affect single unit activities, along with troubleshooting strategies to overcome these challenges. Lastly, the series will conclude by unraveling the interplay between the brain’s structure and its functions, offering a holistic perspective on the complexities of this remarkable organ.
DIXI medical encourages professionals from the fields of neuroscience, neurophysiology, clinical research, and related disciplines to take advantage of this exceptional learning opportunity. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or simply curious about the brain, this webinar series promises to deliver invaluable knowledge in a concise and accessible format.
